At the request of the Israel Police, the Israel Dog Unit (IDU)—a nonprofit organization specializing in working dogs - held a special demonstration at an absorption center in Tzfat for newly arrived Ethiopian immigrants.
The event included a professional dog show featuring the unit’s trained working dogs, alongside demonstrations using drones and other advanced equipment. The showcase aimed to give participants a glimpse into the IDU’s search-and-rescue operations and the role of canine units in emergency response across Israel.
This moving event marked a meaningful encounter between the IDU and the Ethiopian community, giving them an introduction to Israel’s emergency and security services. The demonstration also highlighted the values of dedication, preparedness, and public service embodied by the country's rescue organizations.
The community event was held in coordination with the Tzfat Police Station and featured participation from several emergency and security agencies, including the Border Police, Magen David Adom, the Fire and Rescue Services, and various police units.
