Two people were wounded, including a 19-year-old IDF soldier in serious condition in a terrorist shooting attack in Samaria this morning (Sunday).

The shooting occurred on Route 55 between Azzun and Nabi Ilyas, when terrorists opened fire on civilian vehicles, including a bus. A preliminary investigation showed that the terrorist was lying in wait on the side of the road.

A 19-year-old woman, an IDF soldier, was seriously wounded, and a man was moderately wounded. The bus in which the woman was traveling continued until Karnei Shomron, where she received initial medical treatment before being evacuated to the hospital.

The wounded man was traveling in a private vehicle and continued until the Eliyahu Crossing, where he received initial medical treatment before also being taken to the hospital.

Beilinson Medical Center stated that the wounded woman is in very serious condition and her life is still in danger.

Magen David Adom EMT Assaf Ilkashi said, "A lot of us arrived at the scene. We entered the bus and saw the young woman sitting on the bus, fully conscious and suffering from a gunshot wound in the shoulder. We gave her life-saving medical treatment and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital while she was fully conscious and in serious condition."

Security forces have been dispatched to the scene and are hunting for the shooter. The road has been closed following the attack.
