
Children of the communities evacuated from the southern and northern borders decorated 800 menorahs for IDF soldiers in Gaza.
The "A Bit of Light" project, led by the Human Resources Division of the Southern Command, in which Hanukkahs were prepared and delivered to the soldiers, is one of the projects prepared for the soldiers during the Hanukkah holiday.
The menorahs were sent to Gaza along with boxes of treats for the soldiers, and personal messages and letters, aimed at encouraging the soldiers and reminding them that the people of Israel are behind them and waiting for them at home.
During the fighting, IDF fighters in the combat units of under the Southern Command lit candles for Hanukkah.
Head of a special unit in the Education and Youth Corps said, "The education units deployed throughout the country help create a routine for the displaced communities through diverse activities, with the aim of strengthening personal and community resilience. This project is one of many activities that the Corps has organized, with the aim of strengthening the spirit of the combat soldiers on the front line, and the morale of the communities on the home front."
Education officer of the Southern Command, Major Mor Issachar: "The male and female soldiers carry the thoughts of the children with them, as well as the sense of connection and responsibility to the residents of southern region and the entire nation. The project makes it possible to realize and strengthen this relationship, and we are happy to be a significant part of strengthening the morale of our IDF soldiers."
