Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Friday met world leaders at the UN Climate Conference in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At the conference, Herzog met King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom.
In their meeting, President Herzog emphasized the humanitarian duty of releasing the hostages held by the terrorist organization Hamas. He also appealed to the King to use his full political weight to advance efforts to return the hostages home to their families.
Herzog also held a diplomatic meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who strongly condemned the terrorist activities of Hamas. Modi expressed to Herzog his strong condemnation of the massacre and acts of terrorism committed by Hamas.
The President emphasized that all world leaders must join the humanitarian effort to return the hostages homes swiftly and safely, and appealed to the Prime Minister of India to do all he could to promote the issue.
Early Friday afternoon, Herzog met Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who called on all South American leaders to take part in the efforts to return the hostages.
In their meeting, President Herzog emphasized the right and duty of the State of Israel to defend itself against the security threat posed by the terrorist organization Hamas, as well as to act as necessary in order to return the hostages back to Israel.
The President of Brazil expressed his support for the State of Israel and shared that he had spoken with the leaders of South American nations, and called on them to join the humanitarian effort to return the hostages held by the terrorist organization Hamas.
On Thursday, as part of ongoing efforts to return the hostages, President Herzog landed in Dubai, meeting with UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
At the center of the President’s meeting with the United Arab Emirates President was the necessity to act in any way possible to free the Israeli hostages held captive by the murderous terrorist organization Hamas.
President Herzog emphasized that the release of the hostages was a humanitarian duty for the whole family of nations and leaders of the region in particular, and provided a detailed overview of the current situation. The President appealed to his friend Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to employ his full political weight to promote and speed up the return home of the hostages.
The President of the United Arab Emirates emphasized the obligation and the need to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also thanked President Herzog for the cooperation between Israel and the United Arab Emirates that ebabled the increase in humanitarian aid, the construction of a field hospital in Rafah, as well as the removal of injured children for treatment in the Emirates.
Also present at the meeting were the Head of the National Security Council of Israel, Tzachi Hanegbi, Director General of the President's Residence Eyal Shviki, and Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ronen Levi.
On the side of the President's plane that landed in the United Arab Emirates was written, "Bring Them Home," calling for the release of the hostages held captive by the terrorist organization Hamas.
