מפגש האיחוד של איתן יהלומי עם אימו בת שבעדובר צה"ל

An IDF spokesman on Tuesday morning published footage of the moment the freed hostages returned to Israel Monday evening.

The IDF also published footage of the moving moment when Eitan Yahalomi (12), one of the children released Monday evening, was reunited with his mother, Batsheva, 52 days after he was kidnapped to Gaza from Nir Oz.

Ohad, Eitan's father, was out protecting his family on the morning of October 7, and was shot by terrorists and kidnapped to Gaza.

Earlier this month, Batsheva recounted to Sky News’ Kay Burley that initially, the entire family had been kidnapped to Gaza.

However, Batsheva, her 10-year-old daughter and her 18-month-old baby girl were taken separately from Ohad and Eitan. Eventually, two IDF tanks appeared near the Gaza border and shocked the men on the bikes - causing hers to crash and giving her the chance to escape, which she did successfully, together with her two daughters.

She explained: "This was the last time I saw my son. His motorcycle continued driving. We ran away. We managed to escape through the fields."

"My husband and my son - I don't know what's going on with them," she told the news anchor at the time.
