Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant hosted the Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto on Friday at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tel Aviv. The visit began with a closed meeting between the two Ministers, followed by a professional security dialogue with the respective delegates.
Minister Gallant provided a briefing on the developments of the war in Gaza, with an emphasis on operational progress and the efforts to return the hostages to Israel. He also raised the role of the international community in the region, which includes addressing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as their role in addressing the northern arena.
Regarding the northern arena, Minister Gallant said: "We have no interest in war, but we must deter our enemies. We cannot return to the reality of October 6th – we were brutally attacked by Hamas, and then we were attacked by Hezbollah. We will not tolerate threats to our citizens."
Minister Gallant concluded by expressing his sincere appreciation to Minister Crosetto for his visit during such a critical period for the people of Israel and for his consistent solidarity and support for Israel's right to defend herself.
