
IDF forces are continuing a daylight operation in Jenin that has now carried on for several hours, in addition to an extensive operation last night.
During the operation, a terrorist squad was attacked from the air by a UAV after the terrorists opened fire on a force from the Kfir Brigade. Over ten terrorists were killed in the operaion, and over 20 wanted suspects were apprehended, among them Nur and Minur Salma, Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists. In addition, Two M-16 rifles, a "Carlo" gun, three handguns, ammunition, and military equipment were seized.
IDF soldiers located and destroyed an underground tunnel shaft containing ready-to-use explosive devices. During searches in a building, additional weapons were found, as well as ammunition and military equipment.
IDF soldiers neutralized a terrorist who fired at them and confiscated his M-16 rifle and cartridges. In addition, they destroyed a vehicle containing weapons.
During the soldiers' exit, they faced armed terrorists and killed two of them. They also confiscated two M-4 carbines and a handgun.
Border Police, combat engineering teams, and the elite Duvdevan undercover unit also participated in the operation.
As part of the operation, Israeli forces distributed Arabic-language leaflets warning residents of the city that the IDF would return to the city until the terrorists within it had been eliminated and that those wishing to live in peace should distance themselves from terrorists.
