Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) demonized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as racist and anti-democratic after AIPAC criticized a Republican Congressman for voting together with the "Squad" against a resolution affirming that the US stands with Israel and supports the Jewish State's right to defend itself from Hamas' attempts to wipe out the Jewish people.

"AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists. They are no friend to American democracy. They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color. They are an extremist organization that destabilizes US democracy," Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

AIPAC responded that Ocasio-Cortez was spreading "more of the same tired lies & spin."

"AOC and the Squad summed up: People who disagree with us are racist. AIPAC stands with pro-Israel Democrats and Republicans of all races, genders, and backgrounds who support the US-Israel alliance. And we oppose those who don’t, like you,” the organization stated.

Fellow Congressman Bryon Donalds (R-FL) called out Ocasio-Cortez, writing: "You know who else hates AIPAC? Hamas. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that people like AOC would attack the largest bipartisan pro-Israel group in the US as somehow a threat to our country. The rise of antisemitism by the progressive left is the REAL threat to humanity."

Ocasio-Cortez has been more critical of Israel's retaliation to Hamas' massacre of over 1,400 people on October 7 and efforts to prevent such massacres from ever happening again than she has of the Hamas massacre and the terrorist organization's genocidal ideology and goals. She has called for a ceasefire which would allow Hamas to escape unpunished since the massacre was committed.

In July, Ocasio-Cortez boycotted a speech by Israeli President Isaac Herzog before Congress.

Fellow squad members Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib joined in Hamas' false accusations that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza, killing 500 people. Tlaib continued to promote and spread the lie after it was definitively proven that the blast was caused by a misfired Islamic Jihad rocket and not and Israeli airstrike.
