At least one person was killed and 26 wounded in a bombing at a convention center in southern India today (Sunday), police said.

The blast happened at the Zamra International Convention Center in the town of Kalamassery in Kerala state, where hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses were gathered for a prayer session.

Police chief Sheik Darvesh Saheb said that the initial investigation showed that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the bombing.

Videos from the scene show fires inside the convention center. The injured were taken to the hospital, many with burn injuries.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing yet.
