Air raid sirens sounded early Wednesday afternoon in the Carmel region of Israel, near Haifa.
Shortly afterwards, the IDF confirmed, "The rocket attack on northern Israel originated from Gaza."
"Following the initial report regarding sirens that sounded in the Carmel area in northern Israel, one rocket was identified from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory, which exploded mid-air," the IDF said.
A few minutes later, the IDF confirmed that "terrorists fired an anti-tank missile from Lebanon toward IDF soldiers in the area of Avivim. No injuries were reported."
"In response, IDF tanks and artillery are firing toward the origin of the shooting."
