The 150 largest companies in Israel will hold a strike on Monday in protest of the continuation of the legislation to reduce the use of the judicial doctrine of reasonableness.
The notice of the strike was published at the end of a gathering of the Business Forum. Among others, shopping centers operated by the Azrieli, Ofer and Big companies will be shut down.
Representatives of high-tech companies also announced that they would join the strike and allow employees to participate in protests against the reform.
The Business Forum called on more companies to join the strike and asked that agreements be reached on the legislation of the judicial reform.
On the other hand, Oren Buta, chairman of the Movement of Independent Businesses, blasted the announcement of the Business Forum.
On the other hand, Oren Buta, chairman of the Movement of Independent Businesses, blasted the announcement of the Business Forum and lashed out at it.
"We would like to clarify that all small and medium businesses and other businesses that are not related to you, will be open tomorrow and will support the needs of the Israeli economy," he said.
"We will take any legal step, including a class action lawsuit that we will probably win, and we will use all the means at our disposal, including the legislature. You are hurting your employees, you are hurting your shareholders, you are hurting the self-employed who rent commercial space from you, you are hurting the employees and you are hurting the public," continued Buta.
"It is important to note that you do not employ most of the workers in the non-governmental sector, but we, the 550,000 small and medium-sized business owners, among them factories that employ hundreds of workers. By the way, besides you, there are thousands of other large businesses that are not on strike, such as Yochananof and Rami Levy, and they will surely enjoy the fruits of the public's money on the day of your strike, and after it as well."
"The disaster is your behavior and your duty to act wisely with the investors' money," continued Buta. “When your shares fall, the public is the one who will lose, the one who invests in you and the one who consumes your services. There is still a way back, but the right-wing public will not forget the aforementioned 150 companies. This is a cowardly political strike that serves the minority in the nation. I call on every business owner who rents commercial space from those who will strike tomorrow to contact us and, together with the right-wing members of the Knesset, we will deal with the issue."
