
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir arrived on Tuesday evening at an anti-government demonstration on the Ayalon Highway after protesters blocked the road for several hours.
In addition, clashes broke out between protesters and police at a demonstration on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv.A number of demonstrators lit flares.The police used a water cannon to disperse the protesters.
So far, 45 protesters who tried to disrupt train traffic and who tried to block roads throughout the country were arrested during the demonstrations against the judicial reform.
Earlier, a passenger pressed the emergency brake on a train in the Hadera area and stopped its movement suddenly. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
Meanwhile, police forces blocked the entrance to the train station in Lod and only permitted those with travel tickets to enter the Tel Aviv-Hashalom train station. A number of anti-government protesters bought tickets in order to enter the train station to protest the government's planned judicial reforms.
No trains are stopping at the Tel Aviv-Hashalom station due to the congestion caused by the demonstrators at the station.
Channel 14 reporter Atay Shalev was attacked during a demonstration at the Tel Aviv-Hashalom station. The Journalists Association said in response: "There is no place for violence against journalists and media teams. You cannot on the one hand demonstrate in favor of democracy and freedom of speech, and at the same time continuously interfere with the broadcast and attack reporters."
Police arrested six suspects at the Hagana train station in Tel Aviv after they waited at the entrance of the train station and then blocked the train doors on the platform. Passengers were able to board and disembark from the train after the protestors were removed.
"This is a clear danger to life and our duties are to maintain the safety and security of the citizens. We call on the protesters to act responsibly and obey the instructions of the police officers in the field," the police said, adding that officers were instructed not to allow protestors onto the boarding platforms.
The police further stated that "if the limits of the law are breached - the police will be forced to restore order with all the means at their disposal."
Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai said following a situation assessment: "We have given an order to announce at the protest platforms, anyone who goes down to the tracks will be arrested, it poses a danger to people's lives."
