Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant met this morning (13.07.2023) with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed various regional and global developments. The President and Minister also discussed avenues to further strengthen strategic ties and cooperate in the face of common challenges. In this regard, they also touched on areas of security and industrial cooperation.
The discussion built on the previous meeting held between the leaders this year, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
Minister Gallant expressed his appreciation to the President for his leadership and personal commitment to deepening the bond between their countries, starting with the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel.
The leaders emphasized shared goals for greater security, economic and technological exchanges, as well as a common regional peace and stability.
