National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Wednesday evening rejected the claims that abnormal police violence was used against the protesters who demonstrated against the judicial reform.

"We learned that it is possible to keep Ayalon Highway open even without injuring people. The police acted in accordance with the law. Most of the pictures show protesters acting in violation of the law," said Ben Gvir in an interview with Channel 12 News.

He stated that he would oppose further watering down of the Reasonableness Standard Bill and conveyed a message to Justice Minister Yariv Levin and the chairman of the Knesset Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rothman.

"I am against watering down the Reasonableness Standard Bill. I also say this to Levin and Rothman - the reasonableness standard is nice, but it is only the beginning. This government was elected as a fully right-wing government. We don't have a mandate not to do it, don't cave. The left has not yet come to terms with the fact that I am the Minister of National Security, and with the fact that this is the government," said Ben Gvir.

On the White House’s unusual statement on the demonstrations in Israel, in which it urged Israel to respect the right of peaceful protests, Ben Gvir said that he respects the Americans but this is an Israeli matter.

"We let them block roads too many times, block the entire country, in the name of democracy. I am in favor of allowing a demonstration, but there cannot be a different law when it comes to these protests," he stated.
