Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday morning slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming that "he does not make the decisions in the government."

Speaking to Ynet, Olmert said, "Netanyahu is a rag. He does not make the decisions at home, he does not make the decisions in the government. He is a rag that [National Security Minister Itamar] Ben Gvir waves around."

Earlier this week, Olmert refused to apologize for his call to civil disobedience, telling Galei Zahal that he "really hopes that the police will not knock on my door, and if it happens, I will act as any responsible person acts."

He added, "I just think that the very fact that this possibility is brought up, that the police will knock on the doors of people like Ehud Barak, Yair Golan, who fulfilled extremely crucial tasks, for things that they say that do not have any trace of incitement or threat, when the government ministers are the ones speaking in a reckless fashion and saying that we should be seen as traitors, to think that in the end the police will come to investigate people like us - it's impossible."

Late last month, former Meretz MK and Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Yair Golan told Kan Reshet Bet, "In light of the attempts to eliminate the democracy, we will create unambiguous civil opposition, and if we end up reaching a stage of widescale and nonviolent disobedience - that is what we will do."

"I call from here: Within reason and without acting with violence, to also do things that are illegal - there is no choice but to do this," he concluded.
