Minister of the Interior Moshe Arbel today attended a ceremony in which (Sunday) the Authority for the Management of the Biometric Database, which was established in the Ministry of the Interior, received recognition at the highest level currently issued by Israel's National Cyber Authority.
The new certification of the database means that the biometric database has the ability to successfully deal with many and complex cyberattacks.
The Authority stated that "this type of recognition is a process and the fruit of many years of hard work, which required extensive mobilization and commitment on the part of the Authority's management and operative teams, in order to meet the complexity and demands it places on the organization."
Interior Minister Moshe Arbel said: "I am proud of the opportunity I was given to prove that the national biometric database has progressed in an admirable manner and today meets the highest parameters of information security in the State of Israel. Being the Chief of Staff of the Minister of the Interior, Rabbi Aryeh Deri, I was exposed to the concerns and challenges that faced the biometric database. The recognition received today proves that our important information is in the safest and best hands."
