The Sovereignty Movement on Thursday held its 5th Sovereignty Annual Youth Convention, in which close to a thousand youths, together with public figures and influencers, gathered to call for sovereignty over the Jordan Valley as a first and consensual step on the way to sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel.
“You have people here who will be the future Prime Minister, the future judges, the future heads of the Israeli banks etc. who are here, who do not stutter, who know that Eretz Yisrael belongs to the people of Israel, that we don’t have the right to give up one inch, the future leaders of the Jewish people. They’re here with enthusiasm, with strength, with love for Eretz Yisrael, and it’s very very exciting to know that they’re here,” said Nadia Matar, co-founder of the Sovereignty Movement.
“It gives the government strength to apply sovereignty,” continued Matar. “We know we need sovereignty between the sea and the Jordan River, and we will start with the Jordan Valley.”
The Sovereignty Youth have been taking action for the past five years and are continuing to do so, she said.
“These are youths who are not hooked to Facebook, but they know how to use Facebook and social media to pass on the message of our right to the land of Israel. It used to be that you take a hammer or you take a donkey and you build communities, and we have to continue to build communities, but we have learned the hard way that it’s not enough,” said Matar. “In Gush Katif, the communities were destroyed in six days. And therefore, in order to protect the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, we need to apply sovereignty over it, because sovereignty means: This is ours.”
“The moment the State of Israel doesn’t apply sovereignty, it basically says ‘I’m not sure it’s mine’, and therefore no matter how many communities we create, the next step is sovereignty. We will start with the Jordan Valley. The Jordan Valley is 30% of Judea and Samaria, it has no demographic problem, and therefore, it is the first step. We can do it with this government, which is a right-wing government, and together, youths and adults together, we will do and we will succeed.”
