American cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brock Pierce participated in the March of the Living on Tuesday, telling Israel National News that it was hard to express the depth of the feelings he experienced visiting the site of Auschwitz.
“I don't know where to begin. The the depth of what's happened here is hard to come to the realization or even the feeling that this is real,” said Pierce, a former child actor who starred in The Mighty Ducks, D2: The Mighty Ducks, and First Kid, and who also ran as an independent candidate in the 2020 US presidential election.
“I don't watch horror movies because I don't want to infect my mind with these sorts of things and this is real. This is a story that exceeds Hollywood’s most horrific stories.”
He continued: "I’m here for the March of the Living to to be a messenger of the remembrance of the six million people that tragically and horrifically lost their lives in some of the most horrendous ways imaginable that should be unimaginable, and also to march on behalf of the living.”
Pierce explained that he was friends with the late Edward Mossberg, a Holocaust survivor, educator and philanthropist who was born in Poland.
“I’ve worn his Holocaust numbers on my wrist for a number of years,” he said. “I was supposed to be here with him last year. He passed away and I promised I would be here and so here I am.”
The annual March of the Living took place on Tuesday from Auschwitz to Auschwitz-Birkenau, marking Israel’s national Holocaust Memorial Day. The March of the Living – taking place for the 35th year – was led by 40 Holocaust Survivors, alongside more than 13,000 participants from 25 countries around the world.
