A mysterious disappearance more than a year old has come to its sad conclusion on Israel's southern border.

Bil'adeihem (Without Them), an Israeli nonprofit organization supporting the families of missing persons and efforts to find them, reports that the remains of Roi Goldstein, a 56-year-old man who has been missing since December 7th, 2021, have been discovered on the border between Israel and Egypt.

The Israel Dog Unit (IDU), a nonprofit specializing in search and rescue that coordinated the search effort, released a statement regarding the incident: "We regret to announce that the bones of Roi Goldstein, who disappeared in the Eilat area, have been found near the Egyptian border."

"IDU volunteers have searched numerous sectors of the region for him over the past year, both within the city and in the surrounding countryside, using the very best means at our disposal."

"The IDU shares in the family's grief and it sends them our sincerest condolences."
