Channel 12 News has broadcast recordings from police radio at the time of the hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of Major Barak Meshulam in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Recordings from the vicinity of the checkpoint set up in order to apprehend the Palestinian Arab thief reveal how a police officer alerted Meshulam, saying, "He's heading in your direction - watch out, watch out." Just seconds later, the same officer can be heard screaming: "A police officer was hit!"

"During the night, a report was received from the Tel Aviv district about a stolen vehicle moving towards the Kfar Saba area," Kfar Saba station commander Sharon Manor stated in the wake of the incident. "Officers from the Kfar Saba station were stationed at the intersection to stop the vehicle."

Meshulam was standing next to his vehicle, hoping to intercept the thief, when the 17-year-old Ramallah Arab rammed into him, sending him flying onto the crosswalk on the other side of the road. He later died of his injuries.

Meshulam leaves behind a wife and two children, parents and siblings.
