The Hamas terrorist organization on Thursday dismissed the significance of the “Jerusalem Declaration” that was signed by US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Yair Lapid, saying it views the document as a continuation of "aggression against the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights."
The Jerusalem Declaration deals with the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the United States and Israel, with a commitment to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and to protect Israel from the international boycott campaign and the denial of its legitimacy.
Hamas said the US administration was interested in eliminating the Palestinian issue by integrating "this foreign entity (Israel) into the body of the Arab and Islamic nation and establishing dictates that serve the interests of the Zionist enemy at the expense of the interests of Arab and Islamic peoples."
Top Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya gave a speech at a rally in Gaza in which he directly turned to Biden and said, "You are not welcome here. Your administration has accustomed us to bias in favor of the Zionist entity, and today you have come to strengthen the foundations of the criminal entity and to deny the rights and fundamental positions of our people."
"All attempts to strengthen this entity will fail as we are going to uproot it and its fate will be doomed, and we are sure of this," he added.
