
Rabbi Zushe Posner, a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary to Israel and a senior educator, has passed away at the age of 85.
Rabbi Posner was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Rabbi Sholom and Chaya Posner, and was one of 12 young men sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to Kfar Chabad for the purpose of supporting the community following an Arab terror attack.
Over the years, Rabbi Posner served as educator and mashpia (spiritual educator) in Chabad-Lubavitch yeshivas in Lod, Beit Shemesh, and Bnei Brak. He also served as a contact person between the US Embassy in Israel and the Chabad-Lubavitch community.
Rabbi Posner was predecased by his wife Yehudis, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three siblings.
According to COLLIVE, Rabbi Posner's health deteriorated over the past few weeks, and he was hospitalized. According to Anash,org, Rabbi Posner had recently battled an illness.
He was laid to rest on Friday in Israel.
