A conference and exhibition on aerospace technological innovation is taking place at Jerusalem's Binyanei Ha'Uma conference center this week.

The director of the event, IDF Col. Amnon Ben-David, spoke with Arutz Sheva's Hebrew news service about the conference, and about Israel's role in a changing security environment.

Ben-David said that he hoped the conference would create “dialogue about possible solutions for technological, tactical and strategic levels of handling” serious threats.

This is the second year in a row for the Israel-based conference on aerospace technology. Prominent local and international company delegates are slated to speak at the event, including senior representatives from the Defense Ministry, the IDF, Boeing, and others.

Conference participants have discussed major trends in civilian and military aerospace, including active defense against missiles, aircraft protection, civil aviation, intelligence, unmanned aircraft, space, and more. Dozens of Israeli firms are attending the conference to learn the latest technological advances in the field.

“The threat level here is the highest, so we have to be the very best,” said Ben-David. “We are improving our ability in this area to enable us to strengthen our security in relation to the present threat that surrounds us.”
