(IsraelNN.com) Unidentified individuals vandalized Jewish gravestones in Tver and Smolensk.

The desecration in Tver, which took place in the early morning hours of August 6, was by far the worst, according to an August 10 report by the Regnum news agency.

About 50 gravestones in the Jewish section of the Dmitrovo-Cherkassakh cemetery were daubed with swastikas; another eight were smashed. Anti-Semitic leaflets were posted throughout the graveyard.

On August 6, the AEN news agency reported that 10 gravestones of Jews were broken in Smolensk last month on the day local people commemorate the Nazi establishment of a ghetto in that city. (Bigotry Monitor -- UCSJ's weekly newsletter)
