Wizz Air is significantly expanding its flight schedule from Tel Aviv, adding new routes and increasing frequencies on a range of existing services across Europe, Globes reported on Monday.
The Hungarian budget airline will introduce five weekly flights to London Gatwick, four to Catania in Sicily, three to Venice, two to Cluj in Romania and two to Iasi in Romania.
Wizz Air will also boost the number of weekly flights from Tel Aviv to several European destinations. Services to Budapest will rise from 14 to 21 flights per week, while Bratislava will increase from five to seven and Rome from 12 to 14. Flights to Milan will double from seven to 14 per week, while Naples will rise from five to seven and Bucharest from 11 to 14.
The airline is also increasing service to Sofia from six to seven weekly flights, Verona from two to three, Athens from five to seven, Vilnius from two to four and Warsaw from four to five.
The expansion comes amid a broader return of international airlines to Israel following the suspension of flights during periods of heightened security tensions.
SAS announced Sunday that it will resume flights to Israel on October 26, 2026, with four weekly services between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen.
Delta Air Lines said in late August that it would restore daily nonstop flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport. The first departure from JFK took place Sunday.
United Airlines announced earlier in August that it would resume service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Ben Gurion Airport on September 8, with two daily flights planned on the route.
