US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday published a video showing its forces' activities in enforcing the naval blockade on Iran.
“As of Sept. 2, US forces have redirected 86 commercial vessels, disabled three and boarded two to ensure compliance," CENTCOM said in a statement.
Washington originally imposed the naval blockade on April 13, authorizing US Central Command (CENTCOM) to inspect ships entering or leaving Iranian ports in an effort to restrict Tehran’s petroleum sales and maritime traffic.
Although a temporary 60-day agreement was signed in June to pause the embargo in exchange for unhindered merchant shipping, American forces reinstated the maritime blockade in July following renewed armed clashes and attacks on regional vessels.
