Tens of thousands attended the main Selichot prayer service at the Western Wall plaza on Saturday night.
Those taking part included Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, rabbi of the Western Wall and the holy sites; Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, director-general of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation; hostage survivors Noa Argamani, Itay Regev, Omer Shem Tov, Bar Kupershtein, Eliya Cohen and Ziv Cohen; and tens of thousands of worshippers.
During the service, Rabbi Rabinowitz, together with the hostage survivors and the large crowd, recited a special prayer of thanksgiving for their return, alongside prayers for the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, national unity, and the peace and security of Israel.
The next major Selichot service at the Western Wall plaza will take place this Thursday at 12:15 a.m., with tens of thousands of worshippers expected to attend.
