Israeli military personnel conducted extensive sweeps in Kibbutz Zikim near the Gaza border on Friday evening, following the discovery of damage to the enclave's boundary fence.
Security officials noted that there are currently no signs that an entry from Gaza took place.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated, "A short time ago, forces were summoned to Kibbutz Zikim following a report from the community’s security coordinator regarding a cut discovered in the fence. Upon arrival, troops initiated a sweep of the area."
“As of now, no suspects have been identified, and it cannot be determined when the breach was made. IDF forces are continuing their search to rule out any security incidents," it added.
Residents of the kibbutz have been permitted to leave their safe rooms, but have been told to remain inside their homes for the time being.
