During the funeral for fallen IDF soldier Captain Maoz Israel Recanati, Eliyahu, his father, sang Et Shaare Ratson.

The piyut, or liturgical poem, traditionally sung by Sephardic and Mizrahi congregations on the Jewish New Year, was written by the 12th-century Judah ibn Abbas.

With the refrain: "The binder and the bound upon the altar," the poem retells the story of the binding of Issac, and explores the themes of sacrifice surrounding Abraham's willingness to give up his beloved son for G-d.
