The Office of Argentina’s President, Javier Milei, officially announced his decision to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization.
This is a dramatic step that positions Argentina as a pioneer in South America in the struggle against the regime in Tehran. Argentina is the 41st country to join this designation in the past year.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar thanked President Milei for the decision, noting that it follows his previous declarations recognizing Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organizations. “This decision places Argentina, under Milei’s leadership, at the forefront of the free world in the fight against the Iranian terror regime and its proxies," Sa’ar said.
The minister also recalled that Argentina itself experienced the force of Iranian terrorism in the deadly attacks on the Israeli Embassy in 1992 and the Jewish community center in 1994.
“With this decision, President Milei-one of the great leaders of our generation-has once again demonstrated moral clarity and an uncompromising commitment to the values of freedom and the fight against its enemies," Sa’ar concluded.
