Along with other freed hostages, Eitan Mor - who returned from Hamas captivity - will travel on Thursday to a meeting with US President Donald Trump to thank him for his major role in bringing the captives home.

Mor will present the President with a dreidel as a gift. In a letter attached to the dreidel, Eitan’s father, Tzvika, explained why this gift was chosen.

“As Eitan Mor’s father and on behalf of the Tikva Forum of Hostages’ Families, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering leadership and support in bringing our loved ones home."

"Our children were among the hostages held in Gaza for 738 endless days. The Tikva Forum’s goal - to secure their release without capitulating to Hamas - was achieved thanks to your determination to achieve their release through strength,” Tzvika Mor wrote to Trump.

He continued: "In our tradition, it is written that 'those who bless Israel will themselves be blessed.' Your actions have embodied that timeless truth. At a moment when courage was required, you chose strength; when clarity was needed, you offered determination; and when families like mine were desperate for hope, you helped deliver it. As a small token of our appreciation, my family and I wish to present you with a Hanukkah dreidel (a 'sevivon' in Hebrew). This simple object carries within it the memory of the ancient Maccabean victory in the Land of Israel, when light triumphed over darkness and faith overcame despair."

"As one family to another, I hope you will spin this dreidel with your grandchildren, sharing with them the joy of family, the love passed down from generation to generation, and the reminder that our greatest victories - ancient and modern - are achieved through the strength of Tikva (hope) for our children’s future. This dreidel is a symbol of continuity, of light, and of the historic role you have played in supporting Israel and America’s strength in our time," wrote Tzvika Mor.

“For generations to come, the Jewish people will remember the leaders who stood by them in their darkest hours. History will record your role not merely as a statesman acting on the world stage, but as a hero to families who feared they might never again embrace their sons and daughters. The return of our hostages is not just a diplomatic achievement - it is a miracle of compassion, conviction, and courage. You will forever be part of that miracle,” he continued in the letter to Trump.

He concluded: “My family’s gratitude is beyond measure. No words can fully capture what it means to have our child back in our arms. We still await the return of the remaining three hostages, including Ran Gvili, who heroically entered battle despite his broken shoulder. Your actions will live in our prayers, in our history, and in the hearts of the Jewish people. Thank you, President Trump, for blessing our families with the gift of reunion, and for standing with us when it mattered most.”
