Four IDF soldiers were lightly wounded on Wednesday morning when an old Syrian regime munition exploded in the Syrian Mount Hermon region.
IDF troops set out on a mission on Monday to locate weapons and search the villages in the Syrian Hermon, several kilometers from Israeli territory.
During the operation, an old Syrian grenade detonated. As a result, four soldiers were wounded. They were evacuated by helicopter to a hospital and were later released after undergoing treatment.
The IDF stated that the incident is under investigation and that the families of the wounded were notified.
Last week, troops from the 226th Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division and in cooperation with field investigators from Unit 504, conducted an activity in which a weapons dealer operating in the Taranjah area of southern Syria was apprehended.
Following intelligence indications and prior surveillance, the dealer was apprehended and questioned, and the troops seized weapons that were located in the area.
