
Five members of the IRGC were killed in an attack on an intelligence headquarters used by Iran in the Mazzeh neighborhood of western Damascus.
According to foreign reports, Sadegh Omidzadeh, the intelligence deputy of the guard's expeditionary Quds Force in Syria, and his deputy Hajj Gholam were killed, along with three other members of the IRGC.
Iranian media stated that senior advisors in the IRGC had been killed, but did not confirm if Sadegh Omidzadeh was one of them.
Syria has attributed the killing to Israel.
