Yesterday, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara warned cabinet ministers in a closed-door meeting that their statements regarding the war against Hamas could be considered war crimes and harm Israel's international image.
Channel 12 News quoted Baharav-Miara as saying, “There are statements that support those who wish to harm us because they are contrary to the international law and constitute war crimes.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu was likewise angry with the ministers, and rebuked them sharply, saying, “You need to learn to be quiet and not to say things that you will later regret.”
Netanyahu and Baharav-Miara specifically referred to two comments: In one, Minister Avi Dichter called the war, “The Nakba of Gaza, 2023,” and in the second, Minister Amichai Eliyahu stated that “using an atomic bomb on Gaza is an option for dealing with terrorism.”
