At least 200 people have been murdered and more than 1,100 injured in a massive Hamas assault on the State of Israel today (Saturday).

At about 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Hamas launched a combined attack from the land, sea, and air. Hundreds of terrorists in vans, motorcycles, on foot, in boats, and with paragliders penetrated into Israeli territory along the entire length of the border fence. Dozens of Israeli civilians and soldiers have been captured by Hamas and are being held in Gaza. In addition, thousands of rockets were fired at southern and central Israel throughout the day.

The names of several of the deceased have been cleared for publication. The victims of today's terrorist attacks are:

Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council chairman Ofir Liebstein, who was killed in a firefight while attempting to protect one of the communities in his regional council.

Kiryat Gat fire station commander Tafsar Shalom Tsva'an, a 60-year-old father of two. Tsva'an was posthumously promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

Firefighter Yevgeni Galsky, 34, who served in the Netivot fire station. Galsky was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Gal Danguri, Nadav Bartel, and Ofek Revia, residents of the Samaria community of Beit Aryeh, were murdered in an attack on a party in southern Israel.

These lives are but a few of the more than 200 brutally snuffed out by the Hamas terrorist organization in an attack committed on the Simchat Torah holiday.
