Protestors from Bnei Brak demonstrated outside of the Cola-Cola factory in the city today (Tuesday) following an Instagram post by company CEO Nir Levinger in support of the anti-judicial reform protests. Levinger posted a picture of a t-shirt with the words: "Democracy or rebellion."
Demonstrators blocked a Coca-Cola truck at one point. The police quickly responded to the protest and cleared the protesters within a few minutes.
The "Business Forum", which includes many employers and senior managers in the Israeli economy, also announced yesterday that it has decided to allow employees to act according to their conscience regarding participation in the anti-judicial reform protests.
"The forum calls on Prime Minister Netanyahu to respond to the President's call and not to move forward with unilateral legislation without broad agreement and to return to the discussions to reach a consensus on the issue of the reasonableness standard. Against the background of the ongoing deterioration in the state of the Israeli economy and the sharp decline in foreign investment in the economy, as well as against the background of the security challenges and the social divide, it is of critical importance to reach a broad agreement on this essential issue," the organization stated.
The Big chain, which announced that it would close its shopping complexes, folded after a drop in its stock value and protests from store owners, and announced that it would not force the business owners to close them.
