The police on Thursday evening arrested 12 haredi extremists who broke into the "Neve Tzedek" military prison in the Sharon region and caused property damage.
The extremists were protesting the arrest of a girl who did not report to military service.
Police officers who were called to the scene repelled dozens of protesters from the entrance to the detention facility as they broke down doors and damaged police vehicles.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, "A violent demonstration took place at the entrance to the Neve Tzedek military prison. During the demonstration, a number of protesters broke into the complex of the military prison."
"IDF soldiers and the Israel Police arrested 12 suspects who were transferred to the Israel Police for further questioning," added the statement.
