The Knesset Ethics Committee on Wednesday decided to ban MK Ofer Cassif (Hadash) from all Knesset committees until the end of the summer session.

In the reasoning for its decision, the committee cites several incidents that led to it. Among them is a post that Cassif wrote about a meeting with Belgian lawmakers where he wrote: "I congratulated the representative from the city of Liège on his city council's decision to boycott Israel as long as the occupation and fascism continue."

In another incident, he called MK Ariel Kallner a Neo-Nazi during a discussion. In a separate instance, as Cassif returned from a demonstration in Jerusalem's old city, he said, "May the same thing happen to you" to a young man who had told him his friend was murdered.

The committee also mentioned a somewhat recent argument between Cassif and MK Hanoch Milwidsky (Likud), during which the former yelled to his colleague, "Go rape another one."

The committee pointed out that the many complaints against Cassif were filed only three months after it ruled that he was guilty of three ethics infractions.
