Dutch police on Saturday arrested 154 soccer fans in Amsterdam accused of singing antisemitic chants while on a train, CNN reported.
The supporters were given several warnings by police to stop singing as they traveled to Johan Cruijff Arena on the subway, according to a police statement. But they ignored the cautions and continued to sing.
The arena is the home stadium of AFC Ajax soccer club. Ajax was playing a match against AZ Alkmaar that day.
The fans were arrested after getting off the subway at Strandvliet station, the statement said.
According to the report, the police did not state which team’s fans were responsible for the antisemitic chants.
