On Sunday and Monday (30 April-1 May), Speaker McCarthy will arrive at the Knesset at the invitation of Knesset Speaker MK Amir Ohana (Likud).
Speaker McCarthy will head a delegation of 16 House members, in his first international visit since entering office.
McCarthy will address the Knesset Plenum in the opening meeting of the Summer Assembly on Monday.
This wll be the second time that a Speaker of the US House of Representatives will have addressed the Knesset Plenum, and the first time in 25 years.
McCarthy is expected to arrive at Ben-Gurion on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday evening, the US delegation, headed by McCarthy, will arrive at the Knesset and meet with Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana. There will then be a formal dinner at the Knesset, during which the Speakers will each give a toast.
On Monday, the Speakers will visit Yad Vashem. During the afternoon, there will be an official welcome ceremony for Speaker McCarthy at the Knesset’s Weil Plaza, followed by him signing the Knesset Guestbook.
Ohana will open then open Summer Assembly at the Knesset, and Speaker McCarthy will address the Knesset plenum, in an event which will be broadcast live.
