Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday afternoon commended the IDF operation against terror organizations in Shechem (Nablus) and airstrikes in Gaza.

"We have a clear policy to hit the enemy with might. IDF forces attacked in Gaza overnight. Yesterday, three terrorists were killed in Shechem, along with other terrorists who fired on our forces. These terrorists shot the soldier Ido Baruch and were going to commit more attacks against us. Whoever tries to harm us will bear the responsibility," the Prime Minister stated.

On Wednesday, Israeli security forces operated to detain three terrorists in Shechem. While surrounding the building housing the suspects, a firefight broke out with gunmen in the area. During the operation, 11 terrorist combatants were killed.

This morning a Palestinian terrorist was shot at the entrance to Maale Adumim after she tried to carry out a stabbing attack. Investigations into the incident show that the knife-wielding terrorist approached a security guard, who shot her in the legs. She was taken by ambulance in light condition to Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Center.

Early this morning, six missiles were fired from the Gaza Strip at cities in southern Israel. Missle sirens were sounded in Ashkelon, Sderot, and towns in the Gaza periphery. The Iron Dome missile defense system downed five of the missiles, and a sixth landed in an open area. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the attack. In response, the IDF struck Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip.
