Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Tuesday evening spoke in a Facebook Live event about the judicial reform and said that the move is necessary - but there must be a dialogue about it.
"I will not be willing to live one day in a country where the judicial system is weak. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for it. I also have a lot of respect and appreciation for the protesters and demonstrators. We need to show a lot of understanding and to listen. We need to try and reach agreements. We know how to manage disputes. We are brothers. I admire people who left everything yesterday and came up to demonstrate. And I love these people," said Smotrich.
At the same time, he noted that he did not see the heads of the banks unite to protest against the evacuation of Gush Katif in the same manner that they united for the current protest.
"I did not see the chiefs of the banks come to help about 100,000 people who participated in the Gush Katif protest. I am not ready to accept those irresponsible people on the sidelines who are sometimes the face of the protest - Huldai, Olmert, Halutz, Yair Golan and the like," he added.
