Former Minister of Tourism, MK Yoel Razvozov from the Yesh Atid Party, announced on Monday that he will be resigning from the Knesset.

"After 15 years as a public servant, during which I served as Minister of Tourism in the Government of Israel, as a member of the Knesset and chairman of the Absorption and Aliyah Committee, and before that as a member of the Netanya City Council, I have decided to take a break from public life, and at the end of the month I will resign from the Knesset," Razvozov announced.

"The Yesh Atid Party was and will remain a home and a family for me. A true ruling party that should lead the State of Israel. I would like to thank my wife and daughters for always having my back, and my parents for giving me the education and values," he said.

He then thanked the chairman of his party, "Of course I want to thank the former Prime Minister, the head of the opposition, Yair Lapid, for giving me the opportunity, the support, the accompaniment, the good advice, the friendship and the path to work for the benefit of the State of Israel and the benefit of the citizens of Israel."

"My friends from the Yesh Atid movement, the field activists of the party and the wonderful people who make up this party will continue to lead the country for the benefit of the citizens of Israel," Razvozov concluded his statement.

Lapid responded to MK Razvozov's decision to resign from the Knesset and said, "Yoel, I love you, thank you for the road together. You will always remain part of the Yesh Atid family. Good luck."

Expected to replace Razvozov in the Knesset is Shelly Meron, head of the Central District of the Yesh Atid Party, who in the past fought against what she described as the “haredization" of Tel Aviv. "They are trying to make our children religious," she said in a past campaign.
