Israel Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai visited the family of the late Religious-Zionist spiritual leader Rabbi Chaim Druckman, who passed away earlier this week.
The commissioner came to the mourners' tent flanked by southern district commander Deputy Commissioner Peretz Amar, Lachish region commander Assistant Commissioner Barak Mordechai, and the rabbi of the Police Force Commander Rahamim Berchiyahu.
Shabtai told the family and those present about his meetings with the rabbi and noted that commanders would consult with Rabbi Druckman who was "a man who knew how to bridge between groups and connect all parts of the nation."
"The death of Rabbi Druckman is a great loss for the people of Israel. Over the years in several positions that I held I met the rabbi and what always made him special was his ability to connect everyone during times of crisis," said Shabtai. "Rabbi Druckman was an important educator and leader who raised generations of students, some of which serve today and some served in the past in Israel Police and Border Police."
Rabbi Druckman's family thanked the commissioner for the Police Force's work at the funeral which allowed thousands to take part and pay their final respects.
