Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, chief rabbi of the northern city of Tzfat, has said unequivocally that the car accident in which six-year-old Matan Zinman was killed, was not just an innocent accident.

The statement was made when Rabbi Eliyahu was asked, "Is a Jew who was killed in a car accident with Arabs considered to be one who dies sanctifying G-d's Name?"

To this question, Rabbi Eliyahu responded, "According to the mother, this was an terror attack which aimed to murder Jews. Certainly, he is considered one who died sanctifying G-d's Name."

Rabbi Eliyahu continued, "What does it matter which way they killed him? The main thing is that they intend to harm G-d, by harming the People of Israel. And therefore the State of Israel must take revenge on them - the harshest revenge. 'A G-d of vengeance' (Psalms 94:1)."

"May it be the will of He who said, 'Enough!' to the world, that He should say, 'Enough!' to our sorrows."
