The Berlin Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe was discovered vandalized with two swastikas and graffiti praising Hitler, Deutsche Welle reported.
According to police, a security guard found the antisemitic graffiti at the Holocaust memorial located near the Brandenburg Gate and the Bundestag, the German federal parliament.
An investigation has been opened by the German State Security Service. No suspects have so far been identified.
In December 2021, a report was released revealing that antisemitism in Berlin increased significantly in the first six months of 2021, with three reported antisemitic incidents occurring on average per day.
