The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that last week's global death toll from COVID was the lowest ever.
"Globally reported cases and deaths continue to decline, which is very encouraging and good news," Tedros Adhanom said at a media briefing on Tuesday evening in Geneva. "Last week, just over 15,000 deaths were reported to WHO, the lowest weekly total since March 2020."
