On Christmas Eve, Minister of Defense Benny Gantz expressed a message of gratitude to essential workers and security forces, and wished Israel’s friends around the world a Merry Christmas.

“‘I will bring them to my sacred mount and let them rejoice in My house of prayer… A house of prayer for all peoples,‘" Gantz said, quoting the Book of Isaiah.

“The foundation of the Abrahamic religions is ‘Love Thy Neighbor as Thy Self.’ The Book of Isaiah takes it a step further and emphasizes unity and giving.”

“To our friends in Israel and around the world who gather to celebrate Christmas, I would like to say: First a big blessing and thank you to those who practice our values and serve us around the clock: doctors, nurses, scientists and essential workers who have been bravely fighting covid,” Gantz said.

“The same goes to the soldiers, policemen and other security forces who dedicate their lives to our safety and to global peace.”

“Second, I would like to wish you all, a healthy, peaceful and joyful holiday with your loved ones,” he added.

“May this holiday season unite, empower and bless us. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.”
