Bolivia’s President Jeanine Anez said on Thursday that she has tested positive for coronavirus, Reuters reported.

Anez said in a tweet she was “well” and continuing to work while in isolation. “Together, we will come out of this,” she added.

The confirmation came a week after Bolivia’s Health Minister María Eidy Roca said she too had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Anez was named President after the resignation of former President Evo Morales, who stepped down last November following weeks of unrest over a disputed election that he had claimed to win. He then fled to Mexico.

Bolivia has registered more than 42,000 confirmed cases of the disease and 1,500 deaths and is one of the worst affected countries per capita in the world.

Earlier this week, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19, one day after he disclosed that he had undergone another test for the virus.
