
The administration of the Presidential Residence announced on Monday evening that an employee at the residence had tested positive for coronavirus.
Following this announcement, an epidemiological investigation was conducted by the officials accompanying the Presidential Residence at the Health Ministry, led by the district physician, Dr. Chen Zamir-Stein. The investigation found that a number of employees who came into contact with the infected employee will be forced into isolation.
Last month, another staff member at the Presidential Residence contracted the virus, resulting in the isolation of ten employees. In addition, the Presidential Residence was required to undergo comprehensive disinfection, but the President himself did not require isolation.
Earlier on Monday, the Health Ministry announced that 691 new coronavirus cases had been diagnosed since midnight.
The number of active coronavirus cases has risen to 12,359 of whom 88 are in serious condition, and 35 are on ventilators.
Three patients died Monday, raising the death toll from the coronavirus to 334.
